    sales photography

Sales images are "representational" images. They are very straightforward, simple, and you instantly understand what you're looking at. They are used to show the basic characteristics of the horse and their training, such as:

  • Conformation
  • Character
  • Level of training
  • Athletic ability
  • Temperament
  • Professionalism of trainer and/or seller
  • Health of the horse

Sales sessions typically consist of a headshot, a conformation shot, and a movement shot, either at liberty or under saddle. This session also includes a simple flier design, which combines text and images into a package with all the basic information a buyer is looking for. When the horse has found a new home, the images can go with them to the buyer.

A sales photo session lasts 30-45 minutes, includes 10-12 high resolution images and the flier, and is $200 + tax.

headshot

A head shot tells us about the internal character of the horse. How interested are they in their environment? Do they seem happy, or worried, or bored? What is the energy they're projecting, and is that how they usually are (will you get an “honest” portrait of them)?

conformation

The basic idea of the conformation shot is to show that the horse is balanced and suitable for the task at hand. We need to look at a horse from the side the way a judge does, and the horse needs to be set up as if they were being presented to a judge at a show.

movement

A movement shot shows the type of movement a horse has, as well as the quality.

sales videography

Instead of still images, you can choose to have video done of the movement portion of the session. Everything is the same, except you'll receive a 1:30 edited video of your horse's movement.
