Session Consultation
Before your photo session, we'll talk and you can tell me all about your horse. It doesn't matter if all you know is that you want a session, but don't have any idea or hadn't thought about what you'd like to do with the images. This is where we figure that out. During the course of the consultation, we'll discuss:
- The reason for your session - a birthday, graduation, celebration of a relationship, etc.
- Any thoughts or ideas you had about what you want the images to look like, and how we'll be able to achieve them.
- Your personal style, and the style and decor of your house or office, and how you might want to use the images on your walls or other areas.
- The colors involved, whether it's your horse, your living room, or your favorite shirt, and how to incorporate clothing, accessories, make-up, tack, etc. into your images.
During the Session
I like to arrive when you're not quite ready. This gives me a chance to take a look around and get warmed up, and gives you a chance to get used to having me there with a camera (it can be totally weird, I know). I will often be photographing you as you get ready, even if it's not an "outfit" you will wear for the session. These are always candid images, and you'd be surprised how meaningful they are until you see them. However, do make sure that all clothing changes are ready, all tack is on hand, and any brushes or other items are nearby to use as needed.
It is also extremely helpful and often necessary to have a horse-savvy friend or family member available to assist with everything from clothing adjustments to "getting ears" from the horse, as well as helping keep the atmosphere light and fun.
Payment is requested at the time of the session.
After the Session: Getting Your Images and Ordering
About two weeks after your session, your images will be placed on my website for viewing and ordering prints, and a link will be sent to to download your files. You're welcome to order prints anywhere you like, however I do not guarantee the quality of anything not ordered through me. Once your order is placed, it can take from 2-6 weeks for completion and delivery, depending on the size and complexity of your order.
